From a philosophic standpoint, the fallacy of Special Pleading avoids the Principle of Relevant Difference where two people can be treated differently if and only if there is a relevant difference between them.

Examples

As one who has held a number of high ranking government positions and years of public service, my legislation should be enacted without further debate.
